Treasure Hunter G
Released on May 24th 1996, Treasure Hunter G was the last game Square released on a Nintendo console before announcing their departure to Sony. Combat is done in a tactical action RPG style unlike the ATB system that featured in many of Square's games from the era. Characters were rendered as 3D models and converted to sprites (similar to Donkey Kong Country) allowing us to rotate them in 8 directions instead of the usual 4. Although Treasure Hunter G is relatively obscure to western audiences some of the characters have shown up in other Square games such as Saga Frontier.
Having received a fan translation, Treasure Hunter G is now available to play in English on the SNES.
