Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand

Lost Classics

December 1995 saw the release of Falcom's Ys V: Ushinawareta Suna no Miyako Kefin on the Super Famicom. Two versions of the game were released with the key difference being that the second version was more difficult. The game was re-released in 2006 for the Playstation 2.

Gone are the semi clunky mechanics of the earlier Ys games. Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand borrows it's combat mechanics from other action based RPGs  such as Secret of Mana. This makes for a much more playable game than the earlier titles.

North America was left out and didn't receive any version of the game. Thanks to an excellent fan translation, based on the first version of the game, we are now able to play it on the Super Nintendo in English for the first time.
